A new expansive Ipe deck and pool were the focus of this exterior addition in North Haven, Long Island. With a large rear yard, the clients wanted to re-imagine their existing home by expanding their exterior living space. Built Narrative was hired to create a new exterior dining area, lounge and raised gunite pool.

The design focused on stepping the new deck out from the house to create different zones of space. A private outdoor shower and seating area were created close to the existing structure. A new dining area was aligned to the existing living room. The pool was located furthest away from the main interior spaces, with space for lounge chairs. New planters were added to accommodate the client’s Green Thumb. HotBotany Landscape Design was engaged to replant the rear yard and advise on seasonal and native plantings for the planters
